How to find your septic records in Butler County

Find septic permit and inspection records for a Butler County, OH property using the health district's Accela portal.

Guides · Updated October 27, 2026

Search online in Accela

The Butler County General Health District uses Accela Citizen Access for environmental health records. You can search by site address, parcel number, or record number. To find an inspection report, enter the facility address, select the record, and open the Attachments section for the final inspection reports.

BCGHD notes that the state moved to a new records system. Its guidance is to set the search date back to 2000 to see older inspections.

Older records

For records dated before May 9, 2025, or if you cannot find what you need, BCGHD says to contact its Environmental Health division. Inspections completed before March 2020, including plumbing and septic, are available on request.

What to look for

Look for the installation permit and final inspection, any system drawing (as-built) showing the tank and drain field, past alteration or repair permits, and operation permit conditions. If there is no drawing on file, we can locate the tank and lines on site.
